Joshua Boykin, Ph.D.
Senior Research Chemist
Dr. Joshua Boykin is a senior research chemist with an extensive background in materials and surface chemistry. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Boykin obtained his BS in Chemistry at Marlboro College where he received the President’s Scholarship and wrote his senior thesis on photovoltaic technologies. He then completed his Ph.D. at Clark University in 2017 where his research was focused on the synthesis on the characterization of organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials and earned the Anthony Theoharides Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research. After taking a teaching position at Paul Smith’s College for the 2017-2018 academic year, he was then a postdoctoral research associate at Sandia National Laboratories where he specialized in shear thickening fluids for ballistics applications. Dr. Boykin is extremely excited to help REM continue to advance its expertise in surface finishing for AM materials.
