FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Southington, Connecticut, (June 1, 2020) – REM Surface Engineering announces membership with America Makes. As the Department of Defense Manufacturing Innovation Institute for additive manufacturing, America Makes’ mission is to drive collaboration in our industry to meet the needs of the US government and manufacturing base and is the nation’s leading and collaborative partner in additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing (3DP) technology research, discovery, creation, and innovation. Structured as a public-private partnership to innovate and accelerate AM/3DP to increase the nation’s global manufacturing competitiveness. Silver Membership with America Makes will allow REM Surface Engineering access to the latest technological developments in additive manufacturing and the ability to connect with members, partners, and customers.
“America Makes has been leading exceptional events and projects to advance that additive manufacturing industry for many years. As the AM industry as a whole has matured to the point that post-processing and surface finishing are now actively being evaluated and factored into the technology roadmap, REM looks forward to participating in current and future project calls to support these efforts. Coupling these America Makes Projects with REM’s active NASA and DOD SBIR Awards, it is our hope that we will be able to effectively serve the AM industry as we push this exciting technology more into the mainstream of manufacturing.”
