Brenham, TX – REM Surface Engineering is proud to announce that Bill Nebiolo, our Business Manager for Automotive and Heavy Equipment, has been awarded the 2025 August P. Munning Award by the National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF). This distinguished honor recognizes supplier members who demonstrate outstanding dedication, leadership, and long-term service to the surface finishing industry.
The August P. Munning Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions in our field, celebrating individuals who embody the same values that defined Munning’s legacy–hard work, innovation, industry leadership, and selfless commitment to progress. We are thrilled that Bill’s contributions to both REM and the broader industry have been honored in this meaningful way.
A Lifelong Commitment to Excellence
Bill has been a cornerstone of REM’s technical and commercial leadership for decades. As Business Manager, he oversees our Mideast U.S. territory, specializing in decorative applications, hand tools, and gearing technologies. His ability to merge technical excellence with practical solutions has delivered value to countless customers across the surface finishing supply chain.
A Certified Chemist in the State of Connecticut, Bill brings a rare blend of scientific expertise and real-world experience. His academic background includes degrees in Environmental Science and Chemistry from the University of Connecticut and Long Island University–an education that laid the foundation for his career-long pursuit of cleaner, more efficient finishing processes.
Since joining REM in 1978, Bill has been a passionate advocate for industry collaboration, training, and regulatory advancement. His work has strengthened not only REM’s presence in key markets, but also the industry’s collective efforts to innovate and grow.
A Well-Deserved Honor
„I’m honored by this award nomination, especially since I don’t see my contributions as extraordinary, but rather as a fulfillment of a promise made in my early days with the Society to always offer assistance, just as I received it,“ shares Bill. „My dedication to the NASF, shaped by my father’s Marine Corps discipline and his lifelong motto of always striving for one’s best, is a commitment to excellence that has led to this deeply appreciated recognition from my peers.“
Bill joins an esteemed list of professionals who have received this award, including 2023 honoree George Gilbert of Gilbert & Jones, Inc. The August P. Munning Award continues to be a symbol of integrity, dedication, and forward-thinking leadership in the finishing community.
