Southington, CT – REM Surface Engineering is proud to announce that Mark Michaud, Technical Fellow of REM Surface Engineering, was recognized by the Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance (MPMA) during the 2025 Fall Technical Meeting (FTM) Awards Luncheon, held October 22 in Detroit, Michigan.
The event, hosted on the opening day of the Fall Technical Meeting and co-located with the Motion + Power Technology Expo, celebrated technical excellence and innovation in the power transmission industry. Awards were presented to MPMA technical committee members who contributed to the development and publication of new industry standards over the past year.
Mark Michaud was honored for his contributions as a member of the MPMA High Speed Units Committee, which was recognized for its work on ANSI/AGMA 6011-K25, Specification for High Speed Helical Gear Units. This publication represents a major advancement in gear unit standards and reflects the collaborative expertise of leaders across the industry.

The High Speed Units Committee included representatives from leading organizations such as Artec Machine Systems, Atlanta Gear Works, RENK Group, Regal Rexnord Corporation, Geartech, Lufkin Gears, Atlantic Bearing Services, Atlas Copco Comptec, and Luftex Gears.
The MPMA also recognized other committees, including the Cylindrical Gear Rating Committee and the ABMA Bearing Technical Committee, for their work in publishing important new standards that strengthen the global power transmission community.
